University Capacities Chart

Last fall, we circulated a draft of a new tool that we hope will be helpful for both advisors and students. An updated copy of the Universities Capacities Chart has been posted on the “How to Apply” section of the application website (click on image for PDF). The chart is also attached.

As a reminder:

Universities in the RED category are able to accept a very limited number of students or may not be accepting students at all for the upcoming term.

This indicates to students who select a “Red University” on their application that the likelihood of being placed there is extremely low.

Universities in the YELLOW category can accept a medium number of students, and the number varies from school to school. Generally, these universities can accept students, but may not be able to accept every single student that has listed them.

This indicates to students that if they choose a “Yellow University, the chances they will be placed there are higher than at a “Red University”. However, the university does have limitations and students should be prepared that they may be placed at another one of their choices.

Universities in the GREEN category can accept a high or unlimited number of students.

This indicates to students that if they select a “Green University” they will be placed there, as long as they meet all university requirements.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.
